Establishing pre-hospital care in Sri Lanka

Sanj Fernando grew up on a small coconut plantation on the outskirts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

He immigrated to Australia with his family as a child and became an Emergency Physician. He met his wife at a beer drinking contest and they have 3 children together. He has been an APLS instructor since 2005.

He has varied interests including pre-hospital care delivery (working with NSW Ambulance, the Australasian College for Paramedicine and the Sri Lankan College for Emergency and retrieval medicine), medico-legal medicine (Director of Fernando Consulting), and global acute health care delivery (Co-Director of DevelopingEM Ltd). All of this ensures that his hair will never grow back.
